about ledger
Your financial companion

Ledger is a personal finance dashboard that gives you a complete, honest view of your financial life — all in one place.

I built Ledger so you can connect securely to all of your bank accounts and credit cards in one place -- to track your balances, transactions, and recurring payments automatically. No spreadsheets. No guesswork. No data selling.

Only clarity.

Ledger is designed for people who want to understand their money, not be sold to. I focus on Insight, not pressure. Transparency, not manipulation.

the problem we're solving

Most personal finance apps are broken into predictable ways:

  • Cluttered interfaces pushing credit cards, loans, and investment products at every turn
  • Zero year-over-year insights no way to see if you're improving or just repeating last year's mistakes
  • Categories that don't match reality fixed lists that force 'pet supplies' into 'shopping' and 'side gig income' into 'other'
  • Rigid workflows forcing you into budgeting systems that don't match how you actually live

I built Ledger because I myself grew frustrated with these apps.

philosophy

You should be controlling your finances— not the other way around.

Ledger doesn't tell you how to manage your money. I don't judge your spending. I don't push any products.

I simply give you the tools to see clearly, decide confidently, set goals, and stay in control of your money.

who ledger is for

ledger is built for people who want:

No Ads
Privacy First
Simplicity
Full Control
  • Want a clean overview of all their accounts without the noise
  • Want a better visibility into subscriptions bleeding their bank account
  • Want a accurate, traceable product without exposing their information
  • Want a tool that you control rather than only automate decisions

If you've ever thought "it's so much easier to spend my money than to see where it went" — then Ledger is for you.

What Ledger is NOT:

A bank. A robo-advisor. A budgeting coach. A credit score optimizer.

What Ledger IS:

A companion tool that makes your financial life visible and manageable.

how ledger works

Secure Bank Connections

Ledger uses Plaid, the industry-standard platform trusted by Venmo, Coinbase, and thousands of financial apps.

What this means:

  • Your bank credentials never touch Ledger's servers
  • Read-only access — Ledger can't move money
  • You explicitly approve every connection
  • You can disconnect anytime with one click

Your financial data is encrypted in transit and at rest.

Complete Financial Picture

Connect all your accounts in minutes:

Account Types:

  • Checking & savings

Automatic Data Updates

Your data updates when Plaid receives it from your bank:

  • Regular syncing updates when Plaid receives new data from your institution (typically 1-3 days)
  • Manual refresh check for updates when you need them
  • Clear status if something needs attention
  • 2+ year history complete transaction records

Transaction Intelligence

Every transaction is detailed and searchable:

  • Merchant name & description
  • Status (pending vs. posted)
  • Date, amount, & account
  • Auto-categorization (editable)

Find anything instantly with powerful filters and search

Subscription Detection

Identifies recurring charges using:

  • 1.Bank-provided data
  • 2.Pattern recognition
  • 3.Your corrections

  • Mark/unmark transactions

  • Calculate custom subtotals

what makes ledger different

Your Data Isn't My Product

I don't sell your financial data. Transactions have a 2-Year rolling deletion. Ledger never keeps any personal information. Period.

Cheaper Alternative

I charge what it costs to maintain, not what I can get away with. My goal was to make subscription detection and budgeting easier and more affordable.

Built by Someone Who Uses It

I use Ledger every day to manage my own finances and track personal budgets.
